(NASDAQ: GCOM), a leading provider of satellite-based communications infrastructure solutions and services on a global basis, announced today that David Hershberg, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman has been named a finalist for Via Satellite Magazine's Satellite Executive of the Year Award for 2007.

Via Satellite's award honors top executive performances during the past 12 months and is considered one of the top honors in the global satellite industry. In addition to Mr. Hershberg, 2007 finalists include the CEOs of Iridium Satellite and Gilat Satellite Networks, each of whom guided their respective companies to successful years. Also named were a team of three spectrum and regulatory experts from Intelsat, Inmarsat and SES Global who waged a successful campaign to preserve the use of C-band spectrum for the satellite industry.

Under Mr. Hershberg's leadership, Globecomm Systems reported a Company record $150.7 million in revenue in the Company's 2007 fiscal year, representing a 19.6% growth in revenues over the prior fiscal year. Contributing to the Company's growth was the acquisition of GlobalSat in May 2007, which deepened Globecomm's presence within the United States government federal market for civilian and military applications. Globecomm also made progress in 2007 with its successful entry into the mobile solutions market with a new product called SatCell. SatCell is a service targeted at telecommunications carriers that provides IP-based mobile backhaul and hosted switching for low-density rural markets.
