Local Boys & Girls Club Benefits from Grand Opening Celebration

MADISON, Wis., Feb 25, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) --

Spectrum Brands is furthering its commitment to Walmart and the Bentonville, Arkansas community with the opening of a dedicated support center in downtown Bentonville. In addition to opening a satellite facility, the Company is committed to making a local philanthropic impact through a variety of initiatives.

 

The new Spectrum Brands support center, located at 702 SE 5th Street, brings the full line of Spectrum Brands products under one roof. The support center boasts 23,000-square feet of office and showroom space featuring layout rooms for Spectrum Brands' Rayovac(R), Remington(R), United Pet Group, Russell Hobbs(R) and United Industries product lines.

Open House Celebration Raises Money for Charity

In celebration of the new support center, Spectrum Brands is partnering with the Boys & Girls Club of Benton County to raise money for the club which serves thousands of kids annually through its after school, summer and athletic youth development programs.

Spectrum Brands will host an open house and grand opening celebration at the support center today, Friday, February 25th, from 1-5 p.m. Spectrum Brands will donate $20 to the Boys & Girls Clubs for every open house attendee.

As part of the festivities, Bentonville Mayor Bob McCaslin will headline a ribbon-cutting ceremony (2 p.m.) at the facility which will be dedicated to the town of Bentonville. To recognize Spectrum Brands for the positive impact it has on Bentonville and the surrounding community, Mayor McCaslin will award the Company an honorary key to the city.

Rayovac 5K

On the heels of the fundraising initiative for the Boys & Girls Clubs, Spectrum Brands is sponsoring the Bentonville Running Festival on Saturday, April 2nd . Rayovac stepped up as the title sponsor of the Rayovac 5K, one of the most popular festival activities. The sponsorship is the next evolution of the brand's commitment to Bentonville.
