The annual Product of the Year awards, created to provide information on the top new products in the field, allows readers to choose Gold, Silver and Bronze winners in ten separate categories.

This year, Cooper Lighting, an industry leader committed to delivering innovative products and driving transformational technology in the lighting industry, was awarded a Gold honor in the Lighting Controls Category for its McGraw-Edison Ventus outdoor LED area luminaire and qualified as a finalist for its Portfolio LED Downlights. Cooper Notification also took home a Silver Medal for its SAFEPATH Mass Notification Systems (MNS), ideal for a wide range of industries, including healthcare, education, commercial, industrial and government buildings. Compliant with the latest MNS codes and standards, UL 2572 and NFPA 72 2010, SAFEPATH integrates with a facility's addressable fire alarm system to provide a complete in-building solution. It provides personnel and building occupants with intelligible live and pre-recorded voice messages that communicate what to do in response to an emergency. The system manages all audio and visual notification devices in the emergency communications system and features a modular and flexible design to meet the functional requirements of an emergency response plan as well as the complexities of the latest fire codes.
