| Cooper Industries Announces Update on the Status of its Operations |
HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 14, 2008--Cooper Industries, Ltd. (NYSE:CBE) today announced an update on the status of its operations. Hurricane Ike has had no impact on Cooper's worldwide operations and the company expects no disruption to normal business activities. Although administrative offices, located in downtown Houston, will be temporarily closed as the city deals with the aftermath of the hurricane, this will have no impact on Cooper's worldwide operations. The immediate concern is for all Houston based employees, many still without power and electricity. With manufacturing facilities in 23 countries as of 2007, only Cooper's administrative headquarters was impacted by Hurricane Ike. Cooper currently expects the administrative offices to reopen on Wednesday, September 17th. Until then, essential functions will be managed remotely utilizing Cooper's Disaster Recovery Plan.
