The webpage was created in recognition of February as Heart Health Month.
The Comprehensive Cardiac Care page features information on preventive treatments, screenings, and solutions for six topics related to heart health:
- Adult Body Mass Index Assessment;
- Controlling High Blood Pressure;
- Cholesterol Management;
- Medical Assistance with Smoking and Tobacco Use Cessation;
- Spirometry Evaluation for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease; and

According to the American Heart Association, more than 92 million Americans are living with some form of cardiovascular disease or the after effects of stroke, which is why preventive cardiac care is of the utmost importance. The Comprehensive Cardiac Care page links to brief explanations about the importance of prevention, detection, and treatments of risk factors, early identification and treatment of heart attacks and strokes, and the prevention of recurrent cardiovascular events.
