Webster Bank Appoints Ziluca as Chief Credit Officer

WATERBURY , Conn. , March 24, 2011 — Webster Bank, a subsidiary of Webster Financial Corporation (NYSE: WBS), announces that Chris Ziluca has been appointed chief credit officer. He is responsible for managing the credit approval and policy function, as well as for managing and enhancing credit risk management and infrastructure.

Ziluca has more than 25 years of credit and financial service experience most recently with CIT, where he held several roles of increasing responsibility including chief credit risk officer and interim chief risk officer. Prior to CIT, Ziluca spent 16 years at GE in various risk management leadership roles in Connecticut , California , London , Toyko, and Sydney.

He will report to Dan Bley, executive vice president, chief risk officer. “We're pleased to have someone of Chris' caliber and breadth of experience joining our team,” Bley said. “His leadership and deep knowledge of the credit function will be a true asset to the organization.”

Ziluca received his bachelor's of arts degree in business administration and philosophy from Franklin & Marshall College . He is a resident of Wilton , Conn. , where he is active with the Boys Scouts of America. He is a scoutmaster there for his sons and received his Eagle Scout award in Wilton during his youth.
