Webster Banker Honored as Outstanding Woman in Business

WATERBURY, Conn., April 9, 2012 – The Hartford Business Journal has named Rosemary Gaidos one of the eight Outstanding Women in Business.  Gaidos, who is senior vice president, bank operations, security and facilities at Webster Bank, is featured in the April 9th issue of the HBJ along with the other outstanding senior level executives, entrepreneurs, and CEO’s who are highly regarded in their respective industries.

Rose’s responsibilities include overseeing the implications and implementation of banking regulations.  She joined Webster Bank in 2005 and has been promoted several times during her tenure.

Rose earned her Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts.  She is a Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager and a Certified Risk Professional. 

“We are delighted that Rose has been recognized as one of this year’s Outstanding Women in Business,” said Jerry Plush, president and chief operating officer of Webster Bank. “She has been a strong collaborator and leader in a number of senior roles since joining Webster, and has earned the admiration and respect of her colleagues and others in the business community.”

Rose regularly speaks at conferences like the American Bankers Association and Junior Achievement of Connecticut.  She is a former Chairman of Webster’s United Way Campaign who succeeded in leading a record fundraising goal during difficult economic times.

The Annual Women’s Business Luncheon will take place on May 2, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Connecticut Convention Center, 100 Columbus Boulevard in Downtown Hartford.
