|Webster Bank Employees Raise $1.2M for United Way|
WATERBURY , Conn. , January 4, 2012 — Webster Bank announced today that it raised a record-setting $1.2 million through its recently completed 2011 Employee Community Campaign for the United Way .
The amount raised makes Webster one of Connecticut 's largest contributors to the United Way . The money will go to more than 40 United Way chapters and more than 100 United Way partner agencies across Connecticut , Massachusetts , Rhode Island and Westchester County , N.Y.
The campaign consisted of several one-time fundraisers over the course of the year including an online auction, Jeans in July and a corporate contribution.
“I want to thank everyone who participated in the campaign for helping us accomplish this remarkable achievement. In doing so, together, we have shown clearly what it means to be a Type W personality and demonstrated how we Live United by giving back to the communities we serve,” said Diana Pagliarini, Chair, 2011 Webster Employee Community Campaign for United Way.
