Webster Bank Appoints Thomas Pautler SVP, Senior Applications Manager

WATERBURY , Conn. , August 16, 2010 – Webster Bank, N.A., the main subsidiary of Webster Financial Corporation (NYSE: WBS), has appointed Thomas Pautler to senior vice president, senior applications manager.

In this position, Pautler oversees the support and delivery of technology for Webster's retail and commercial channels including online banking, branch systems and Customer Care Center systems. Pautler joined Webster in 2009 as vice president, application development. Prior to joining Webster, he worked for 15 years in similar positions with Fleet Bank and Bank of America. Before entering banking, Pautler spent several years developing software for various clients in the fields of engineering, industrial automation and embedded systems.

Pautler earned a BS in computer science from Syracuse University.
