Webster Banks Appoints Michael Lachapelle SVP, Senior Applications Manager

WATERBURY , Conn. , August 16, 2010 – Webster Bank, N.A., the main subsidiary of Webster Financial Corporation (NYSE: WBS), has appointed Michael Lachapelle to senior vice president, senior applications manager.

In this position, Lachapelle manages critical software and leads the teams that oversee large applications including deposits, finance, compliance and human resources, which includes development and ongoing software support. He joined Webster in 2006 as vice president, senior application development manager. Prior to joining Webster he worked at Fleet Bank in a variety of IT positions, including senior application development manager, as well as Citizens Bank as a programmer/analyst and Amica Insurance as an application programmer.

Lachapelle earned a BA in History Education from the University of Rhode Island .
