|Webster Bank Appoints Matthew Willard SVP, Director of Financial Intelligence & Corporate Security|
WATERBURY , Conn. , August 16, 2010 – Webster Bank, N.A., the main subsidiary of Webster Financial Corporation (NYSE: WBS), has named Matthew Willard senior vice president and director of financial intelligence and corporate security.
In this position, Willard oversees investigations as well as security related to the bank's branches and facilities. Willard joined Webster in 2006 as vice president, financial intelligence unit manager. Prior to joining Webster, he worked from 2000-2006 as a special agent with the United States Treasury Department with expertise in complex financial crime investigations.
Willard is a member of the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists and volunteers with the AYUSA Global Youth Exchange, a program designed to provide a wide range of life-changing cultural exchange experiences for students worldwide. He earned a BS in finance and accounting from Central Connecticut State University .
