Bangkok Airways Signs Multi-Million Dollar Reservation Hosting and Departure Control Agreement With Sabre Airline Solutions

Contract Will Provide Advanced Technology for Most Successful Independent Airline in Asia

BANGKOK, Thailand, Feb 7, 2003 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ --Sabre Holdings Corporation (NYSE: TSG) and Bangkok Airways signed a multi-million dollar contract with Sabre Airline Solutions today for the implementation of a suite of advanced passenger reservations and departure control technology.

Bangkok Airways awarded Sabre Airline Solutions the five-year contract after a detailed selection review of numerous reservations hosting providers. The broad reservations and departure control suite that Bangkok Airways is implementing include Sabre Passenger Reservations System, Sabre ACSI international airport check-in system, Sabre SteadyState Weight and Balance system, and a suite of Sabre QIK products for the airline's operations.

According to Ping na Thalang, the choice of Sabre Airline Solutions for this contract was an essential step in its domestic and international expansion program. The carrier is recognized as being one of Asia's most successful independent airlines and Thailand's second largest carrier.

Michael Baldwin, Sabre Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific, noted that Bangkok Airways joins the increasing number of airlines in the Asian region utilizing Sabre technology solutions. Bangkok Airways is the 10th Asia Pacific based airline to outsource their Reservations and departure control system to Sabre Airline Solutions in the last 12 months.

Bangkok Airways currently operates a fleet of Boeing 717 and ATR aircraft for domestic services within Thailand, as well as international services to regional destinations.

The Sabre Passenger Reservations System will effectively manage both reservations and operations without the need for Bangkok Airways to develop, host and maintain their own systems. Functionality provided includes reservations, inventory and distribution management, ticketing, electronic ticketing and fares and pricing.

The Sabre ACSI Airport Control System International automates the check-in and gate management process and provides a faster, more efficient passenger check in and boarding process, while the Sabre SteadyState Weight and Balance solution will be used by the airline for load planning requirements.

These systems are supplemented by a suite of Sabre QIK graphical user interface products, which will make utilization of the reservations and check- in host systems user friendly and substantially reduce training timeframes. The Sabre QIK tools will allow Bangkok Airways employees to quickly and efficiently service passengers by presenting information in a consistent, uncomplicated format with logical entry sequences and graphical representations.
