International Paper Names Ann Wrobleski to Replace Lyn Withey as Vice President of Public Affairs

STAMFORD, Conn., Sept. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- International Paper (NYSE: IP) today announced that Ann Wrobleski will join the company on Oct. 1 and will assume the position of vice president of public affairs following a one-month transition. Wrobleski will manage the company's public affairs activities, identifying emerging issues and developing positions and priorities that advance IP's corporate strategy.

Wrobleski, 53, is currently Vice President, International, at the American Forest & Paper Association. Prior to that, she spent nine years in government relations consulting, as chief executive officer of Halliday, Inc., and chief operating officer of Jefferson Waterman International, LLC. She served at the U.S. Department of State as Assistant Secretary and at the White House as Director of Projects. She also served as press secretary for U.S. Rep. Lou Frey, Jr. and as spokesman for U.S. Sen. Dick Stone and Florida candidate Jack Eckerd.

She received her Bachelor of Arts from Stephens College in Columbia, Mo., and she serves as trustee emeritus at both Stephens College, where she chaired the Board of Trustees for six years. She is also a member of the U.S.-ASEAN Business Council, the U.S.-New Zealand Business Council, The Washington International Trade Association, and the National Association of Manufacturers.

Wrobleski replaces Lyn Withey, who is retiring from International Paper, after representing the company's public affairs interests for 18 years.
