Santander Chile celebrates the 20th Anniversary of its ADR program at the New York Stock Exchange

· The traditional "bell ringing" that opens the New York Stock Exchange  was led by CEO and Country Head of Banco Santander Chile, Claudio Melandri.

August 5, 2016. Banco Santander Chile celebrates 20 years since it began trading its ADRs in the United States under the ticker symbol (BSAC). The Bank celebrated this milestone by leading the traditional bell ringing at New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), thus initiating trading for the day.

The CEO and Country Head of Banco Santander Chile, Claudio Melandri, who was in charge of leading the event, said that "the Bank's commitment with Chile is a long term one and this has been proven over the last 20 years, which along with the country, we have grown reaching a leading position in our financial system. Celebrating this anniversary by opening one of the most important exchanges in the world makes us very proud, because it reflects the strength of our Bank which has become one of the most profitable bank shares for investors. This encourages us to move forward in our goal of contribute to the progress of individuals and businesses". During the bell ringing, the executive was accompanied by the Deputy General Manager, Miguel Mata; the Chief Financial Officer, Emiliano Muratore; COO, Sergio Ávila, and the Manager of Investor Relations, Robert Moreno.

The NYSE is the main stock market exchange in US. The opening ceremony with the traditional ringing of the bell is one of the most watched events in the world attracting the attention of millions of viewers daily.

Santander Chile was listed on the New York Stock Exchange on July 1, 1996 when it merged with Banco Osorno and La Union, becoming the successor of the ADRs of this entity and Banco Santiago's as well after the merger in 2002. During the last 20 years of ADR program in the United States, the total return  of this stock has been 710% in pesos and 441% in US dollars.
