MCLEAN, Va., March 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Capital One Financial Corporation (NYSE: COF) today announced that Susan R. McFarland has been named to the post of Corporate Controller, reporting to Chief Financial Officer Gary L. Perlin.

In her new role, McFarland will be responsible for overseeing corporate accounting and reporting functions for the company, as well as corporate tax and the financial control environment. In her previous two years at Capital One, McFarland has been serving as CFO for Capital One's largest business line, US Card, and has provided support to the company's various corporate infrastructure groups including IT and Human Resources.

"Susan's experience within the company and in the industry has proven a valuable asset to our financial management team," said Perlin. "We look forward to her continued leadership as Controller."

McFarland is a CPA and joined Capital One after a sixteen-year career with Bank One where she served in a number of key roles, including Controller of Bank One Houston followed by CFO positions supporting national functions ranging from operations to retail banking. Prior to her work at Bank One McFarland spent three years as a senior auditor with Deloitte & Touche.
