MCLEAN, Va., Nov. 28, 2011 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ --

With the busiest travel season upon us, TravelingMom.com, a leading family travel website and blogger network, announced today the launch of the "Holiday Travel Double Take Giveaway." Consumers can enter to win a chance to re-do a memorable holiday travel experience with a free family vacation, courtesy of Capital One Venture.

Between November 28 and December 10, consumers can visit http://www.travelingmom.com/home/capitalone.html and submit their most extraordinary holiday travel stories - from frustrating moments, to funny happenstances, to adventurous journeys - for entry into the "Holiday Travel Double Take Giveaway." Consumers can also gain one additional entry per day by sharing a link to the giveaway via Twitter. One winner will be selected at random to win a second chance at a family holiday vacation.

"Traveling with the entire family in tow - especially during the busy holiday season - can be thrilling and challenging, and everybody has one of those stories," said travel expert and TravelingMom founder Kim Orlando. "We thought it would be fun to give people a chance to re-live a fond memory or re-do a mishap."

Kim Orlando and the TravelingMom network of experts will share tips for traveling with the entire family during the holidays during two Twitter Parties. Participants can share travel tales and seek advice from the TravelingMom experts. The first Twitter Party is on November 28 at 9 p.m. EST, followed by a second Twitter Party on December 5 at 9 p.m. EST. Participants who share their holiday getaway story on the "Holiday Travel Double Take Giveaway" page and join at least one of the Twitter parties using the #DoubleTake hashtag will be eligible to win an iPad 2 in a random drawing by TravelingMom during each party. Additional details about the giveaway and Twitter Parties are available at http://www.travelingmom.com/home/capitalone.html.

"There are ways to make the most out of holiday travel with the family, and finding the right rewards program is a great place to start," said Orlando. "As both a mom and a frequent traveler, I want to earn as many miles as I can and I don't want any issues when I'm ready to redeem them. Venture gives me double miles and I don't have to worry about things like blackout dates or any of those other annoyances."

Capital One Venture has been recognized as one of MONEY® Magazine's "100 Best Money Moves" for two consecutive years. With Venture, cardholders earn double miles on every purchase, every day, without the restrictions commonly found in other rewards programs. Additional Venture features include:

  • The flexibility to fly on any airline, anytime, with no blackout dates or restrictions;
  • The ability to redeem miles for any travel purchase - airline, hotel, rental car and more - before, during or after travel;
  • No foreign transaction fees. Other cards charge up to 3% or more when cardholders use their card to make purchases outside the United States;
  • No limitations on how many miles can be accumulated and no miles expirations;
  • Easy redemption as cardholders can simply make their travel purchase (by whatever means they prefer) using their Venture card, then call Capital One or go online to reimburse the charge with their miles. The cost of the transaction is refunded on the next statement.

"When people look back at their holiday vacations with family and friends, they should be reminded of happy memories, not stressful or problematic travel road blocks they encountered along the way," said Sukhi Sahni, spokesperson at Capital One. "Venture helps you earn miles twice as fast, which means more free travel for the whole family. And you can book your holiday trip on any airline at any time - after all, where's the sense in earning miles if they can't be redeemed?"
