Mosaic Updates Market on Esterhazy Brine Inflow

PLYMOUTH, Minn., Nov. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Mosaic Company (NYSE: MOS) responded to market rumors about elevated levels of brine inflow in the mined out area at its Esterhazy, Saskatchewan potash mine.

The Company said that brine inflow rates rise and fall regularly. The current rate of brine inflow is elevated, but within the historical range of inflows at Esterhazy. The Company is evaluating the inflow and is managing it as in the past. Mosaic has successfully mitigated brine inflows at its Esterhazy mine since 1985.

The Esterhazy mine has an annual production capacity of approximately 5.3 million tonnes.
