 | Dmitri Boutoussov, Ph.D. Chief Technology Officer
Dmitri Boutoussov, Ph.D., was appointed Chief Technology Officer in October 2010. Boutoussov, 47, has more than 18 years in developing laser technologies for dentistry and medical applications in the U.S. and Europe. He has authored and co-authored more than 20 U.S. and international patents and patent applications, and more than 25 publications in peer reviewed magazines and conferences. He also has lectured in the U.S. and internationally on Laser Physics and Laser Medical Applications. He joined BIOLASE in 2000 as Director of Engineering and was appointed Vice President of Engineering in 2004. In this position, Boutoussov was responsible for the development of all current and new BIOLASE products, was a key participant in expanding the Company’s intellectual property portfolio, directed the education and training of sales and service personnel and established strategic partnerships with international suppliers. Prior to his tenure at BIOLASE, Boutoussov among others was also a technical manager with Laser Medical Systems, GmbH, in Vienna, Austria, and a research engineer with Ioffe Institute, Academy of Sciences, in St. Petersburg, one of the most recognized science schools worldwide. Boutoussov holds both a Ph.D. and a Master of Science degree in Physics from the Polytechnic University in St. Petersburg. |
