Express Scripts Ranked by Fortune and Forbes

ST. LOUIS, April 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Express Scripts, Inc., (Nasdaq: ESRX) has been ranked for the first time among the top 500 companies in the United States by both Fortune and Forbes magazines, published this month. Express Scripts was also included earlier this year in the Forbes Platinum List, and was one of 25 companies featured in the "Platinum Profiles."

In the Fortune 500 list, Express Scripts ranked #371 based on revenues. The Forbes 500s ranked Express Scripts #353 in sales and #498 in profits this year. The Forbes Platinum 400 list, published in January, includes companies that are "exceptional big corporations, that pass a stringent set of hurdles" based on a combination of return on total capital, cash flow per share, and sales and net income growth. Express Scripts registered the second highest return on total capital of any company included in the Business Services category, averaging 27.4% over the last five years.

"We're pleased that Forbes recognized Express Scripts among the 'time-tested champions' included on their Platinum list," stated Barrett Toan, Express Scripts president and chief executive officer. "We consider the rankings to be significant, but secondary to our success in delivering value to our clients and employing our capital to create optimum economic profit."
