Voting "Taking Shape" in National PLAY-DOH Colorful Campaign 2000 - Colorful Candidates Look To Win Votes On Super Tuesday -- Rose Red Currently in the Lead

PAWTUCKET, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 6, 2000--While the U.S. Presidential candidates campaign across the country, gearing up for the pivotal Super Tuesday primary, another "colorful" campaign is also heating up. Hasbro's PLAY-DOH Colorful Campaign 2000 invites kids and kids-at-heart to cast their ballot for their favorite PLAY-DOH compound color at www.hasbro.com. The winning four colors, to be announced in September, will be included in the new "PLAY-DOH Kids Favorites Four-Pack" in Spring 2001.

What four colors will receive the most votes to become part of America's Kids Favorite Four Pack?

Currently, the "traditionals" are leading -- those colorful candidates find themselves in front of the 10-candidate pack. Of the more than 29,000 votes already cast, Rose Red is clinging to a slight lead with 15% percent, just ahead of Garden Green (13%), Blue Lagoon (12%) and Robin's Egg Blue (12%). However, these conservative colors may not hold onto the lead, as everyone knows that Super Tuesday could push any color into first place.

For instance, Party Hat Purple and Tropical Sun are two colors that suggest both a cheery optimism (who doesn't love a party hat?) and a sunny disposition - which may well motivate voters during these cold, winter months.

Also struggling to win the hearts and minds of the people are the beloved Terrific Teal and Purple Paradise, both neck-and-neck since the election kicked-off in the New Hampshire Primary at the Concord Rumford Elementary School.

The PLAY-DOH Colorful Campaign 2000 election to vote for America's favorite PLAY-DOH compound colors saw a major upset in the New Hampshire Primary when the radical (as in cool!) Hot Lava Pink seized a significant victory. However, (as any U.S. Presidential candidate well knows) a New Hampshire win does not always bode well, and Hot Lava Pink has since slipped in the polls to a mere 8%.

Children may also submit a postcard indicating their one favorite color to: PLAY-DOH Colorful Campaign 2000, c/o Fleishman-Hillard, 220 E. 42nd Street, 12th Floor, New York, NY 10017. Voting is open until June 30, 2000.
