Hasbro Revolutionizes the Way Kids Communicate with the Introduction Of CHATNOW The Personal Communicator Designed for Today's Tweens
Now Tweens Can Talk, Send Text Messages and Take Photographs with No Airtime Charges or Calling Plan

PAWTUCKET, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 10, 2005-- "Who's in your Chat Zone?" will be the question on every tween's lips this summer as the CHATNOW communication system hits store shelves nationwide. Introduced by Hasbro, Inc.'s (NYSE: HAS) Tiger Electronics, the CHATNOW Two-Way Radio Communicator is the new personal communicator that allows kids to be in touch with their friends and family in up to a two-mile range without paying for airtime or signing a calling plan contract. With the CHATNOW Communicator tweens can talk to their friends, send text messages and even take digital pictures!

"Today's tweens ask for cell phones but many parents don't feel they are ready for the responsibility and won't make the financial obligation," said Duncan Billing, chief marketing officer for Hasbro, Inc. "CHATNOW satisfies the whole family - kids get a really cool communication system made just for them and, unlike a cell phone, parents won't incur airtime charges or have to commit to a calling plan."

CHATNOW hand-held communicators allow kids to 'call' or 'text' their friends as much as they want within range. Each CHATNOW communicator has its own seven digit 'Buddy Number' which can be used just like a phone number so kids can contact each other directly. Users can create a personal 'Buddy List' with their friends' numbers so their best friends are never more than the touch of a button away. With a built-in digital camera kids can save and assign a photo to each of their friends 'Buddy Numbers' so when they chat their stored picture will appear on their CHATNOW screen. No time to Chat? Not a problem! With CHATNOW tweens can send a private text message to anyone in their buddy list.

In addition, CHATNOW Communicators have several other 'cell phone-like' features. With the digital camera kids can take and store up to 30 images that can be viewed on the unit's black and white screen. Photos can be animated to make it look like their friend is really 'talking' or accessorized using add-on props like goofy eyes or wacky hair-dos! CHATNOW also features ten special ring tones as well as a flashing light to let users know they have an incoming call or message. Text message features include predictive text, preset messages and a choice of 15 expressive emoticon symbols for tweens to personalize their text messages.

Modeled after popular cell phone styles, CHATNOW Communicators will be available in two designs: the traditional 'flip' style featuring a foldable keypad and a 'slide' style featuring a keypad that slides out from inside the handset. CHATNOW Communicators will be available in a variety of colors.

CHATNOW Communicators (ages 8 years and up) will be available nationwide in August for the approximate retail price of $74.99 per set. Each set contains two units so you can start chatting right out of the box! Accessories include colorful and stylish snap-on faceplates, chic carry cases and 'hands-free' earpieces; all sold separately.
