NetVanta Unified Communications Capabilities Create New Opportunities for Channel
Customization Enables VARs to Target New Vertical Markets with Unique Solutions
HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Mar 22, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- ADTRAN(R), Inc., (NASDAQ: ADTN), a leading provider of converged communications solutions, today announced expanded opportunities for channel partners to target vertical markets with customized Unified Communications (UC) applications. ADTRAN's NetVanta(R) Business Application Server, part of the NetVanta UC family of Unified Communications solutions, includes the unique ability to develop customized applications utilizing Communication Enabled Business Processes (CEBP) by streamlining tedious, redundant business processes and enhancing customer service using their existing communication system.

"ADTRAN worked closely with us throughout the development process, offering suggestions and innovative ways to enhance our custom UC application even re-designing parts of the application making it easier to re-deploy for future opportunities," said Joseph Cardone, application and sales engineer, Consolidated Technologies, Inc. "The development team was on top of the process from planning to development throughout the testing and up to the final presentation to our customer. We have known ADTRAN to be an outstanding partner when it comes to support of their traditional telecommunications products and are glad to see the same with the new UC Server and the Business Integration team."

The NetVanta Business Application Server enables users and businesses to easily implement communications-oriented business process automation. Scalable to up to 200 concurrent calls, this Microsoft Windows-based software solution allows businesses of all sizes and types to implement cost-effective CEBP. The solution leverages the graphical drag-and-drop non-programmatic service creation environment that is common across all NetVanta UC solutions to allow IT and telecom professionals to quickly and easily create tailored communications services.

The easy-to-use and very flexible database integration enables queries to leverage data in Line of Business (LOB) application databases, using built-in functions such as dial-for-data, retrieve, add, delete and update to database tables. The NetVanta Business Communications Server also provides faxing capabilities to integrate fax reception and transmission into communications services, a paging server to integrate overhead paging, and on-the-fly email creation capabilities, all of which operate in conjunction with Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) databases. Implemented as a standalone solution or with existing legacy PBXs, the NetVanta Business Application Server lets businesses drive workforce automation, increase productivity and improve organization responsiveness with fast Return on Investment (ROI).

"Channel partners are looking for ways to differentiate themselves. The NetVanta Business Applications Server provides that competitive advantage," said Renock Hall, product manager, Business Integration Services, ADTRAN. "NetVanta UC can be integrated with any database application to create an affordable solution that uniquely meets the need of an individual business. This not only allows resellers to expand their reach to new customers, but it also gives them a means to build their base of returning, long-term customers from a services perspective."

Specialized applications can be developed for any customer by the reseller or through ADTRAN Custom Extended Services (ACES). ACES offers a team of design and development personnel that can work hand in hand with channel partners to design a custom solution to meet any customers need.
