Inc. (NYSE: WPI), a leading specialty pharmaceutical company, announced today
that it will donate $600,000 worth of brand and generic prescription drug
products and cash to support relief efforts for victims of Hurricane Katrina
in the Gulf States.
In collaboration with a number of major chain drug stores, the Company
will provide access to pharmaceutical products at no cost for patients living
in areas affected by the hurricane who are in need and have no prescription
drug coverage. Additionally, Watson is working with a number of charitable and
governmental organizations providing medically necessary products for patients
displaced by the disaster. Separately, the Company is matching cash donations
made by Watson employees to the American Red Cross, to aid victims of the
hurricane.
