(Nasdaq: ICON) (the "Company") announced today that Peter Cuneo and Mark
Friedman have joined its Board of Directors.
Peter Cuneo is currently Vice Chairman of the Board of Marvel
Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE) after having served as Marvel's President and CEO
for 3 1/2 years until 2003. Marvel licenses its 5000 characters including
Spider-Man(R), the Incredible Hulk(R) and X-Men(R) through more than 500
agreements with strategic partners in categories including motion pictures,
television, toys, video games, apparel and theme parks. Mr. Cuneo is also
Chairman of Cuneo & Co. LLC, a private investment firm. He previously served
on the Board of Directors of Waterpik (NYSE) as Chairman of the Audit
Committee prior to the sale of the company earlier this year. Mr. Cuneo also
serves as Vice Chairman of the Alfred University Board of Trustees. He has
successfully held senior management positions at global consumer products
companies such as Remington, Black & Decker and Clairol. Mr. Cuneo earned a
B.S. degree from Alfred University and received an M.B.A. from Harvard
Business School.
Mark Friedman is Managing Partner of Trilea Partners LLC, an investment
and consulting firm in New York. Previously, he was First Vice President,
Equity Research at Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc. Mr. Friedman was with Merrill
Lynch for 10 years and most recently oversaw the U.S. equity research retail
team covering more than 80 stocks. He specialized in analyzing and evaluating
specialty retailers concentrating on the apparel, accessory and home good
segments including Abercrombie, Coach, Gap, Tiffany and Williams-Sonoma.
Prior to Merrill Lynch, Mr. Friedman was at Lehman Brothers and Goldman, Sachs
& Co. where he analyzed and evaluated companies in the advertising agency,
apparel, footwear and retail industries. Mr. Friedman was consistently ranked
on the Institutional Investor All-America Research Team as one of the top-
rated sector analysts and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree
from the University of Michigan and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School,
University of Pennsylvania.
