NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 28, 2005--Iconix Brand Group, Inc.
(NASDAQ: ICON) formally Candie's, Inc. announced today that it will
continue its association with reality TV star, Nicole Richie for its
BONGO(R) brand. The "Simple Life" star will appear in the junior
brands Fall 2005 print advertising campaign. Teamed with Nicole is
famed DJ to Hollywood's A-list celebrities and Nicole's fiance, DJ AM,
who will appear with her in the campaign to launch the new collection
of BONGO Men jeans, tops and footwear. The campaign will debut in
September issues of magazines such as TeenVogue, Seventeen, Elle Girl,
Rolling Stone and InTouch Weekly.
Nicole Richie and DJ AM stated, "We are so excited to do the
campaign together." Nicole continued, "I had done the campaign last
season and I had so much fun and I loved they way the ads came out. I
love BONGO because it's really hot looking but at the same time it's
jeans and you can wear it all the time."
Commenting on the new Men's collection, DJ AM stated, "I am a
jeans and t-shirt type of guy but I add my own style and flare and the
new BONGO collection is perfect for me. In my line of work I need to
be comfortable and I can DJ in these clothes any night of the week."
Dari Marder, Creative Director, BONGO, describes the campaign,
"Nicole and AM are the perfect BONGO couple. We asked them to act
naturally and for them that meant a ton of P.D.A., as a result, many
of the ads will feature them cuddling and kissing. At our last shoot
AM dj'ed for us and Nicole spent most of her time dancing. It just
made sense for this campaign, which is announcing BONGO Men, to
include AM. He has a great casual style which represents the BONGO
guy. We chose New York City's hotspot, Aer Lounge to host a party for
the newlyweds-to-be and invited their friends and shot the campaign at
the same time. Nicole and AM had a blast!"
The campaign was created by Iconix's in-house marketing team and
shot by famed celebrity photographer, Moshe Brakha. Brakha also shot
the Spring 2005 campaign featuring Nicole. Nicole and AM will make
public appearances on behalf of the brand. The BONGO Juniors and Men's
fall collections will be available in department and specialty stores
nationwide this month.
