(Nasdaq: CAND - News) has announced today it has partnered with three of the hottest GRAMMY® nominated artists, Eve, Vanessa Carlton, and Kelly Rowland, who have designed their own signature Candie's/ GRAMMY® shoes. The shoes will be unveiled in the March 4th issue of US Weekly magazine, which will be on newsstands on February 21st. Not only do these shoes ROCK!, but they do good, too. Proceeds from the specially designed shoes will benefit both the GRAMMY® Foundation, dedicated to music and arts education, and The Candie's Foundation, committed to educating teens about the consequences of teenage pregnancy.
Vanessa Carlton and Kelly Rowland will be on hand to celebrate the launch of their Designer Candie's Collection at Macy's Herald Square on February 20th at 11:00 am. Fans will be able to meet the girls and get their autographs, as well as place orders for their own pair of limited edition Designer Candie's.
GRAMMY® nominated for Best Female Rap Solo Performance, Eve, is also an actress, fashion designer, and now she can add footwear designer to her resume. The rap artist has specially designed a sexy, evening shoe that has been studded with Swarovski crystals for Candie's. Commenting on her design, "I wanted to do something glamorous I could wear to a fabulous event."
3x GRAMMY® nominated artist and Candie's spokesperson, Vanessa Carlton has taken her design inspiration from the 70's, with a summer sandal detailed with an ankle wrap and peace doodle in the insole of the shoe. 2x GRAMMY® nominated artist and member of Destiny's Child, Kelly Rowland, wanted to design something, "that would be fun and stylish." Kelly detailed her Candie's shoe with a large flower in front, nail head detailing along the side, and has her name burnished into the back of the wooden heel. Commenting on The Candie's Foundation, "Teaching our youth how to prevent teenage pregnancy is a must! No one should have to give up their childhood because they didn't have the right information."
The limited edition of Designer Candie's will be available in April at better retailers nationwide and candies.com, and will retail from $90.00 to $125.00.
