NEW YORK, NY, Mar 17, 2008 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX News Network) -- Carole Sobin has been named Con Edison's (NYSE: ED) secretary and
associate general counsel, effective April 1. She had been vice
president of Purchasing for Con Edison since March 2002.
Sobin joined Con Edison in 1988 as a senior attorney and had served
as general solicitor in the company's Law Department. Sobin had also
served as assistant to the Chairman.
Before joining the company, she was an attorney with the National
Labor Relations Board in New York. Sobin is a cum laude graduate of
New York University Law School and has a bachelor's degree in
political science, cum laude, from Goucher College in Towson,
Maryland.
Her community involvement has included a board membership with the
Union Square Partnership and membership with the Young Audiences of
New York, an organization that advances arts education and programs
in New York City public schools.
A Manhattan resident, Sobin and her husband Jon Levison have two
children.
