NEW YORK, NY, Jan 24, 2008 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX News Network) -- Con Edison Chairman and CEO Kevin Burke today announced that
Gurudatta Nadkarni was named Con Edison's vice president, Strategic
Planning. Nadkarni's appointment was effective January 1.
Mr. Nadkarni will report to Chief Financial Officer Robert Hoglund
and will be responsible for all aspects of the company's strategic
planning function.
"Guru has extensive experience, both within and outside the utility
industry," said Mr. Hoglund. "His knowledge and strategic insight
will help us as we evaluate growth opportunities for our business."
Before joining Con Edison, Nadkarni held a number of positions,
including as managing director of growth at Duke Energy; engagement
manager at McKinsey & Company; and as senior research scientist at
International Paper.
Nadkarni earned an M.B.A. in Finance and Marketing from the
University of Chicago and a Ph.D. in Physics from Carnegie Mellon
University.
