We are aware of reports of a compromise at Home Depot stores.
Protecting customer and account information is a top priority and we take it very seriously. We have sophisticated fraud systems in place that actively monitor our customers’ accounts. If we detect suspicious activity, we will contact the customer to confirm if there has been fraud on the account. If we confirm there is fraud, we will close the card and reopen it with a new account number.
As always, Capital One customers are protected by our $0 fraud liability policy. We also encourage our cardholders to monitor their accounts and if they notice any activity that they do not recognize, they should call the number on the back of their card as soon as possible.Customers can also enroll in account alerts to help keep track of account activity by signing in to online banking at www.capitalone.com where they can set up text or email alerts based on their preferences.
