Donald C. Templin Named MPLX President

FINDLAY, Ohio, Dec. 21, 2015 - MPLX LP (NYSE: MPLX) Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Gary R. Heminger today announced that the Board of Directors of the general partner of MPLX has named Donald C. Templin to the position of president. Templin will also serve as an executive vice president of MPLX's sponsor, Marathon Petroleum Corporation (NYSE: MPC). The appointment will be effective Jan. 1, 2016, and he will remain in Findlay.

Also effective Jan. 1, Pamela K. M. Beall will become executive vice president, Corporate Planning and Strategy at MPLX, reporting to Templin. She will also remain in Findlay. 

"As we prepare for MPLX's future, Don is an ideal choice to lead the newly combined team dedicated to transforming MPLX into a large-cap, diversified master limited partnership with a key role in our nation's energy infrastructure build-out," said Heminger.

Templin joined MPC in June, 2011, as senior vice president and CFO.  He serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the general partner of MPLX.


MPLX is a fee-based, growth-oriented master limited partnership formed in 2012 by Marathon Petroleum Corporation to own, operate, develop and acquire pipelines and other midstream assets related to the transportation and storage of crude oil, refined products and other hydrocarbon-based products. Headquartered in Findlay, Ohio, MPLX's assets consist of a network of common carrier crude oil and products pipeline assets located in the Midwest and Gulf Coast regions of the United States and a butane storage cavern located in West Virginia with approximately 1 million barrels of natural gas liquids storage capacity. In addition, MarkWest Energy Partners, L.P., a wholly owned subsidiary of MPLX, owns and operates midstream service businesses. MarkWest has a leading presence in many natural gas resource plays, including the Marcellus Shale, Utica Shale, Huron/Berea Shale, Haynesville Shale, Woodford Shale and Granite Wash formation.
