Federal-Mogul Powertrain to Showcase Engine Valve Technologies at 2015 High Horsepower Summit

Southfield, Mich., October 27, 2015…Federal-Mogul Powertrain, a division of Federal-Mogul Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ: FDML), will highlight its latest engine valve product offerings at the 2015 High Horsepower (HHP) Summit in Dallas October 27-29. This is the first industry trade show in North America that will showcase the company’s recently acquired engine valve technologies.

“High horsepower engines are an important market for all Federal-Mogul Powertrain products and technologies, and in particular engine valves,” said Jeff Randlett, Director, Global Sales and Application Engineering, Federal-Mogul Powertrain. “Valves are integral to the operation of natural gas engines. They must work reliably under severe mechanical and high thermal load conditions while ensuring resistance to heat and wear. We’re pleased to showcase our leading valve technologies currently serving many of our large engine customers around the world, for the first time, at this important industry event.”

Key valvetrain products on display include:

Engine Valves. Federal-Mogul Powertrain is showcasing a range of valves suitable for the HHP engine market, including its monometallic and bimetallic valves. The valves provide an efficient and optimized design according to the needs of the engine application, and as well as improved wear protection with the addition of nitride, chrome plating and hard facing to the valve.

ROTOCAP® valve rotation component with ball-spring pocket mechanism. The valves of internal combustion engines are among the most highly stressed engine components.     Federal-Mogul Powertrain’s unique ROTOCAP rotational device provides uniform rotation of the valve at nearly all engine speeds, ensuring a durable valve life of intake and exhaust valves. Its compact design allows for efficient, flexible mounting on the valve.

Valve Cotters. Valve cotters are designed to ensure that the valve spring holds the valve in the proper position, which is essential for trouble-free operation of the gas exchange. Federal-Mogul Powertrain’s valve cotters are offered in both clamping and non-clamping designs and are available in standardized formats to suit all engine applications.
