Search for a Champion is sponsored by Federal-Mogul Motorparts, a division of Federal-Mogul Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ: FDML).
The annual contest enables grassroots racers throughout the U.S. and Canada (excluding Quebec) to compete for Champion sponsorships by submitting a 2-minute video profile that best demonstrates their commitment to winning with the help of "Performance Driven(TM)" Champion spark plugs. Search for a Champion is open to racers in three broad categories of engine-driven competition: Asphalt; Dirt; and Water/Snow. Winners in each round are selected in part through online votes cast by consumers. More than 140 grassroots racers produced and submitted videos for this year's contest.
"Every vote cast in the Search for a Champion contest can dramatically change the course of a racer's career - that was absolutely true for me," said 2014 grand-prize winner Jordan Ives. "This is the only program of its kind to support talented young drivers who want to reach the next level of competition and perhaps even become professionals. I'm proud to represent the Champion brand and the thousands of voters who supported me each time I line up for the start of a race."
