LONDON – July 10th, 2016 – As Amazon gears up for its second annual Prime Day on July 12th, one exciting component for customers in a growing number of cities is the opportunity to get select deals delivered in an hour or less. Prime Now, Amazon’s ultrafast delivery service, has grown rapidly to more than 40 urban areas worldwide since first launching in Manhattan, New York in December of 2014.

“The only thing better than snapping up amazing deals on Prime Day is having items arrive just minutes or hours after placing your order through Prime Now,” said Stephenie Landry, worldwide vice president of Prime Now. “Prime Day is all about rolling out the red carpet for Prime members and we know customers love the amazing convenience of receiving their order in lightning fast speeds.”

Prime Now has also spread quickly in the UK and is now available in nine urban areas since first launching in London in June 2015. The service offers one-hour delivery for £6.99 or delivery within a choice of two-hour same day delivery slots at no extra cost to customers in London, Surrey, South Yorkshire, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Liverpool, Leeds, Portsmouth and their surrounding areas.

Surprise Deliveries for Prime Now Customers
Prime Now has been surprising customers ahead of Prime Day, with special Prime Now deliveries taking place by famous faces including former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye, who delivered gifts to a south east London boxing gym, and Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt, who delivered Kindle devices, toys and games to a Primary School in the north east of England.

Prime Now - Exclusive Deals for Prime Day
In celebration of Prime Day, Prime Now is featuring deals on select items each day running up to Prime Day on Tuesday 12th July. Customers who place their first-ever Prime Now order using promotional code 5PRIMENOW will receive £5 off that order, and all customers will be able to browse our selection of “Prime Now Favourites”, showcasing some of the most popular items customers get from the ultra-fast service.
