“We’re delighted to announce that we’re bringing another world-class TV series from AMC exclusively to our Amazon Prime customers here in the UK,”said Chris Bird, Film & TV Strategy Director, Amazon Instant Video UK Limited. “Into the Badlands takes audiences on a cinematic journey like they have never experienced before, through a post-apocalyptic future, where stylishly choreographed fight scenes, and a thrilling storyline of the pursuit of power, freedom and destiny will have audiences hooked from the first scene.  We look forward to bringing this highly-anticipated show to U.K. audiences alongside the extensive library of award-winning and critically acclaimed original and exclusive TV shows only available on Prime Video.”
"We're delighted to be expanding our existing relationship with Amazon on Into the Badlands which was much sought after when we launched it at MIPCOM," said Stuart Baxter, President, eOne Television International. "We're looking forward to bringing another bold, highly-anticipated AMC series to UK audiences."
Set in a devastated future world controlled by powerful feudal barons, INTO THE BADLANDS tells the story of a ruthless warrior, Sunny (Daniel Wu, Tai Chi Zero), and a young boy, M.K. (Aramis Knight, The Dark Knight Rises), who embark on a spiritual odyssey across a dangerous land.  The Badlands, as they are known, is controlled by rival Barons who have a stronghold on all resources and enforce their rule through loyal soldiers called ‘Clippers’. One such warrior is Sunny who, demonstrating lethal proficiency in martial arts, has risen swiftly through the ranks to become Head Clipper and trusted advisor to the merciless Quinn (Marton Csokas, The Lord of the Rings). When a new Baron, The Widow (Emily Beecham, 28 Weeks Later) enters the fray, the violence escalates and Sunny encounters M.K. for the first time. As The Widow continues her campaign against Quinn, the destinies of the stoic assassin and the impetuous teenager become intertwined.  In their evolution as teacher and student, each will discover his true purpose; together, they will embark on a quest that could mean the difference between chaos and enlightenment for everybody in the Badlands.
INTO THE BADLANDS also stars Oliver Stark (Luther) as Ryder, Orla Brady (Fringe) as Lydia; Sarah Bolger (Once Upon a Time) as Jade; Ally Ioannides (Parenthood) as Tilda; and Madeleine Mantock (Edge of Tomorrow) as Veil. From AMC Studios, INTO THE BADLANDS is created by executive producers/showrunners/writers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (Smallville), and executive produced by Oscar®-nominated producers Stacey Sher and Michael Shamberg (Pulp Fiction, Contagion), director David Dobkin (Shanghai Nights), fight director Stephen Fung (House of Fury) and Daniel Wu (Tai Chi Zero).
