Biography PhotoCarl A. Mayfield
Senior Vice President Design and Construction

Carl A. Mayfield is responsible for providing leadership to the project management team and supervising all phases of capital projects.  He is responsible for disaster remediation, energy management/conservation strategies, physical due diligence, budgeting, scheduling, brand coordination, contracting and capital execution for all properties. He also provides leadership for all development projects from programming, planning, entitlements, budgeting, and public-private partnerships. Prior to joining RLJ, Mr. Mayfield served as the Project Executive for Georgetown University's "Southwest Quadrangle Project," a $200 million mixed-use housing, parking, dining and demonstration fuel cell facility.  Prior to that, he managed the MCI Center tenant projects and The World Bank’s Space Efficiency Project on behalf of Carr America.  Mr. Mayfield’s 26 years of experience in design, construction and real estate development projects span the spectrum from residential, commercial, sports and entertainment to hospitality. He has been involved with or managed over $3 Billion worth of real estate projects.  Mr. Mayfield holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Delaware and a M.S. in Real Estate Development from Johns Hopkins University.
