President and Chief Financial Officer
Steven Sterin was appointed Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and a member of the board of directors of our general partner in August 2014, shortly after joining Andeavor as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Sterin will devote the majority of his time to his role at Andeavor, and he will also spend time, as needed, devoted to our business and affairs. As CFO, Mr. Sterin guides Andeavor’s financial strategies and leads more than 800 employees in the following areas: controller, corporate analytics, credit, internal audit, investor relations, taxes, treasury, corporate development and information technology. Prior to Andeavor, Mr. Sterin was senior vice president and chief financial officer for Celanese Corporation, a global technology and specialty material company, for seven years. During this time, he was also president of Celanese’s Advanced Fuel Technologies business. Mr. Sterin joined Celanese in 2003 as director of finance and controller for the company’s chemical business and also served as corporate controller and principal accounting officer before being appointed CFO. Before Celanese, Mr. Sterin spent six years with global chemicals company Reichhold, Inc. in a variety of financial positions, including director of tax and treasury in the Netherlands, global treasurer and vice president of finance for one of the company’s divisions in North Carolina. Mr. Sterin holds a Master of Professional Accounting degree and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting, which he earned concurrently at the University of Texas at Austin. He is also a certified public accountant in Texas.
