Bravo Health’s Greg Lipson Named to Board of Maryland American Diabetes Association

BALTIMORE (May 2, 2012) – HealthSpring, a Cigna company, congratulates Greg Lipson, a vice president of network operations, for his appointment to the Board of Directors for the Maryland chapter of the American Diabetes Association (ADA). Lipson has long been an active supporter and community volunteer of the ADA, as well as the leader for many diabetes initiatives within Bravo Health.

“I am honored to serve and contribute to the mission and efforts of the American Diabetes Association,” said Lipson. “It is critical that each person proactively manages diabetes to be able to live an active and productive life.”  He added, “Blood pressure and blood sugar levels are key indicators for people at-risk of diabetes as well as good ways to effectively manage diabetes. I look forward to working with the ADA to encourage Marylanders to know their numbers so they can enjoy healthier, happier lives. Together, I know we can make a positive difference.”

In addition to Lipson’s personal contribution, Bravo Health and HealthSpring, along with parent company Cigna, support the American Diabetes Association as both a National Strategic Partner and local chapter partner, contributing a combined $325,000 since 2011 to fund research, advocacy and education. Within the community, Bravo Health hosts several member events throughout the year that offer diabetic screenings and free information on preventing and managing diabetes.

“We would like to congratulate Greg on his well-deserved appointment,” said Jason Feuerman, president of the Mid-Atlantic and Pennsylvania markets and senior vice president of HealthSpring. “Bravo Health and HealthSpring are dedicated to improving the health of the communities we serve and it’s the passion and volunteerism of our employees that enable us to realize our mission.”
