|Kraton to Launch New Innovations at ChinaPlas|
|HOUSTON, TX. AND SHANGHAI, CHINA – MAY 16, 2007 – Kraton Polymers LLC (Kraton), a leading global engineered polymer company, announced today that it plans to exhibit at the 2007 ChinaPlas tradeshow to be held May 21st thru May 24th in Guangzhou, PR China. Kraton’s booth will be located in exhibit Hall C, booth 2C631.
“Kraton is excited to be participating in this years’ tradeshow. The new technology we are showcasing at this year’s event will show customers that Kraton is committed to tailoring solutions, being the innovative leader, and creating unique market alternatives”, said Jim Dieter, Vice President Sales and Marketing – Asia Pacific.
“As a global leader in SBC innovation, with over 40 years experience, we are pleased to bring new technology, expertise, and state of the art facilities to a growing list of customers that are looking for customized solutions,” said Michael Evans, Vice President – Asia Pacific. “We are excited about our prospects in this region, and we are very enthusiastic about our future growth.”
Kraton has built a strong presence in the Asia Pacific region over the past several years and is taking the next step in terms of growth. Over the next several years, Kraton intends to grow its position and will commit the necessary resources, technology and capital to that end. Kraton recently announced the opening of its new distribution center located in the Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone in Shanghai, China. The distribution center includes storage and distribution capabilities for Kraton unhydrogenated and hydrogenated styrenic block copolymers and polyisoprene products. The opening of the distribution center marks the completion of Phase I of the previously announced multi-functional customer service center. Phase II calls for a technical center, which will serve customers in the Asia Pacific region by providing product testing, quality assurance, and customer service. Kraton anticipates that the new technical center, which will include packaging capabilities, will be operational in the second quarter 2007.
Kraton is a leading global engineered polymer company and, we believe, the world’s largest producer of styrenic block copolymers (SBCs), a family of products whose chemistry was pioneered by us over forty years ago. SBCs are highly-engineered thermoplastic elastomers, which enhance the performance of numerous products by delivering a variety of attributes, including greater flexibility, resilience, strength, durability and processability. Kraton polymers are used in a wide range of applications including adhesives, coatings, consumer and personal care products, sealants, lubricants, medical, packaging, automotive, paving, roofing, and footwear products. Kraton has the leading position in nearly all of its core markets and is the only producer of SBCs with global manufacturing capability. Its production facilities are located in the United States, The Netherlands, Germany, France, Brazil, and Japan.
