Committed to Sustainability
True sustainability is a multifaceted commitment. We focus on working safely, enhancing the communities where we operate, using natural resources intelligently in our manufacturing and distribution processes, and taking a stand to improve the global environment.
The products we manufacture come from renewable resources - trees - that we ensure are sustainably managed by conducting third-party audits of our fiber sources and fiber procurement processes to confirm our compliance with Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI®) standards. Our paper mills in International Falls, Minnesota, and Jackson, Alabama, have earned Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) chain-of-custody certification from the Rainforest Alliance's SmartWood program.
Boise Inc. is a member of the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Climate Leaders Partnership. The partnership is a voluntary program sponsored by the EPA to help companies set aggressive, corporatewide greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction goals. We have committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions an additional 10% by 2014.
