SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 26, 2017-- Glu Mobile Inc. (NASDAQ:GLUU), a leading global developer and publisher of free-to-play mobile games, today announced that Mike Olsen has joined the company as Senior Vice President of Studios. Olsen brings an extensive background in creative direction, game design, studio management and live game operations. He joins a strong team of existing leaders at Glu as the company looks to a successful future driven by highly creative and proven leaders.

“I am incredibly pleased to welcome Mike Olsen as Glu’s SVP of Studios where he’ll build a talented team of developers to create innovative new products,” said Nick Earl, Glu’s President and CEO. "As I enter my first year leading the company, I plan to invest in and empower leaders with the same industry prowess as Mike."

“Glu’s talent model is focused on hiring the industry’s finest and arming them with world-class infrastructure, tools, funding and support to create phenomenal products while eliminating the risk of going at it alone,” continued Earl. “As a leading developer of mobile games for over a decade, Glu’s industry-leading success is something I’ve recognized for quite a while,” said Olsen. “I am tremendously excited to join the Glu team to apply my breadth of game development experience to drive the company’s product innovation into high-gear.”

A twenty-year industry veteran spanning mobile, console, online and PC gaming, Olsen joins Glu from Electronic Arts where he most recently led the Capital Games studio in Sacramento, California. During his tenure at EA, Olsen served in various roles where he led the design and creative direction for 25 titles including Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, The Godfather, Tiger Woods PGA Tour Golf, NCAA March Madness, NCAA Football, Knockout Kings, Dungeon Keeper and more. Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes has been downloaded over 30 million times, has generated more than $100 million in revenue and received Apple’s Editor’s Choice and Google’s Best Picks.
