Trina Solar leadership team is made up of employees from a number of nationalities, each with significant management and PV industry experience, who work together to bring the highest quality solar modules and the best service to customers around the world.
Jifan Gao
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Jifan Gao established Trina Solar and has been our chairman and chief executive officer since January 1998. Mr. Gao currently serves as the executive member of the China Renewable Energy Society and as the standing vice chairman of the China New Energy Chamber of Commerce of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce. Mr. Gao is also an executive member of China Photovoltaic Society, an international director of Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International, and a vice chairman of the executive committee of the Asian Photovoltaic Industry Association. Mr. Gao received his master’s degree in physical chemistry from Jilin University in 1988 and his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Nanjing University in 1985.

Terry Wang
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Terry Wang has been our chief financial officer since June 2008. He served as our senior vice president of finance from January 2008 to June 2008. Prior to joining us, Mr. Wang was the executive vice president of finance of Spreadtrum Communications, Inc., a fabless semiconductor company listed on NASDAQ, from 2004 to 2007. Before that, Mr. Wang served as CFO of a silicon valley-based technology company and had also served as controller at one of the largest NASDAQ-listed semiconductor assembly and testing companies. Since April 2011, Mr. Wang has also served as an independent director and audit committee chairman for 21Vianet.com, a NASDAQ-listed Internet data center services provider in China. Mr. Wang is a Certified Management Accountant, is certified in financial management and holds an MBA in finance from the University of Wisconsin.

Stephanie Yang  Shao
Chief Human Resources Officer
Ms. Stephanie Yang Shao has been our chief human resources officer since September 2010. Ms. Shao brings experience from Fortune 500 companies, including Colgate-Palmolive (New York), where she held various roles from 2002 to 2010, including director of global employee relations and engagement. Prior to Colgate-Palmolive, Ms. Shao had also served at Bristol-Myers Squibb and The Dun & Bradstreet Corporation in roles relating to human resources, marketing, and business development. Ms. Shao received a doctorate in social and organizational psychology from Rutgers University in 1995 and an Executive Education certificate in Marketing Management from Columbia University in 2000.

Zhiguo Zhu
Senior Vice President and Module Business Unit President
Mr. Zhiguo Zhu joined Trina Solar in 2011 and was named senior vice president in January 2012, and president of Trina Solar’s Module Business Unit in September 2012. Mr. Zhu served as our vice president of finance from February 2011 to December 2011. Prior to joining Trina Solar, Mr. Zhu served as the global finance operations controller and internal control and audit director and the chief financial officer of the Air-Conditioner Group at Haier Group, China Regional CFO and Vice President of Lucent Technologies (Qingdao), and also as the financial controller and acting general manager at Howden Hua Engineering Company. He received a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Tsinghua University in 1984, a master’s degree from the University of Shanghai Science and Technology in 1987, a Certificate of Postgraduate Studies from Cambridge University in1994 and an MBA from Imperial College London in 1995.

Qiang Huang
Senior Vice President and Blue Ocean Business Unit President
Dr. Qiang Huang joined Trina Solar in 2007 and was named senior vice president in January 2012. In September 2012 Dr. Huang was named president of our Blue Ocean Business Unit. Prior to his current role, Dr. Huang served as our director of manufacturing engineering from May 2007 to July 2008 and was promoted to vice president of technology in October 2008. He is the director of the State Key Laboratory for PV Science and Technology, a member of the National Standards Committee of China, as well of the Technical Committee of the National Opto-electrical and Building Integrated Photovoltaic Expert Committee of China. He is the Chinese national representative for the IEC TC82 International Technical Committee to develop international PV standards. Dr. Huang received an M.S. degree in electronics materials and devices from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and a Ph.D in physics specializing in thin-film technology from the National University of Singapore.
