Mergers and Acquisitions


Mergers and acquisitions (M&A) are a critical part of the Rexnord growth strategy. With a heritage more than 100 years in the making, since 2005, we have invested nearly $2 billion in our M&A strategy, adding approximately $1 billion of sales across all of our businesses. We continually look to expand our portfolio through M&A activities. Our strategy is to build around multiple, global strategic platforms that participate in end-markets with sustainable growth characteristics where we are, or have the opportunity to become, the industry leader.

Philosophies Guiding Our M&A Strategy:

  • Accelerate our core revenue growth through entry to new end markets or channels
  • Strengthen the base businesses through product, channel or geographic expansion
  • Create opportunity to innovate faster than could be acheived internally
  • Diversify our base business to sustain growth over an economic cycle

Rexnord seeks leading manufacturing or industrial service companies in attractive markets, with businesses that will benefit from the Rexnord Business System (RBS), used to achieve world-class customer satisfaction, revenue growth and operating margins.

We buy and invest in companies for the future, with a focus on growing segments. We are committed to the continued development of our acquisitions. We help the organizations grow and diversify globally through our extensive international sales network and make them an integral part of Rexnord.

Selling to an owner committed to growing the business over the long term offers a degree of stability and security to a workforce that other buyers may not be able to offer. Over the last decade, approximately 50% of the Rexnord workforce has joined us through acquisitions. Many of these associates have subsequently moved-up, filling key roles within Rexnord.
