(NYSE: MWA.B, MWA) announced today that Dr. Lydia W. Thomas, 63, was elected
to its board of directors.
Thomas is the retired president and chief executive officer of Noblis,
Inc., a nonprofit science, technology and strategy organization working at all
levels of government in areas that are essential to our nation's well-being:
national and homeland security; public safety; transportation; health care;
criminal justice; energy and the environment; and oceans, atmosphere and

Homeland Security Advisory Council, and previously served on the Scientific
Advisory Board of the U.S. Department of Defense's Strategic Environmental
Research and Development Program and the Environmental Advisory Board to the
Army Corp of Engineers. She also serves as vice chair of the Board of
Trustees of George Washington University.
Dr. Thomas holds a Ph.D. from Howard University, a Master of Science
