Former Judge Rosalind Poll Brooker, of Naples, will be welcomed to the Canine Assistants family and introduced to a representative Canine Assistants service dog. She was diagnosed with Post-Polio Syndrome at the age of two and uses a wheelchair. Rosalind's Canine Assistants service dog will assist her with retrieving dropped items, opening/closing doors, turning on/off lights and offering companionship and love. Milk-Bone(R) and PetSmart (NASDAQ: PETM) are sponsoring a Canine Assistants service dog for Judge Rosalind Poll Brooker. They will go home together after attending an upcoming sponsored training camp together. The cost and care of these specially trained dogs can exceed $20,000. The sponsorship covers all travel and boarding at camp for Rosalind and includes veterinarian costs for the life of the dog. A certified Canine Assistants Trainer and a representative dog will speak at the event along with representatives from PetSmart and Milk-Bone(R). Since 1997, Milk-Bone(R) has helped to sponsor over 900 police and service dogs all across the country. Milk-Bone(R) has worked with PetSmart since 2001 to donate a total of 26 dogs to PetSmart community recipients like Judge Rosalind Poll Brooker.
