Biography

Michael Rapino was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Live Nation in August 2005. Under Mr. Rapino’s leadership, the company has since solidified its position as the world’s largest producer of live concerts.

Mr. Rapino has transformed the company from its traditional concert operation into a global, robust e-commerce business, selling concert tickets and products directly to millions of fans. Live Nation is the only concert company in the world with a vertically integrated artist-to-fan model, and the company’s website, LiveNation.com, now ranks among the leading music sites in the world.

Prior to becoming CEO of Live Nation, Mr. Rapino held the positions of CEO and President of Global Music for Clear Channel Music Group. He also led Clear Channel Entertainment’s London-based International Music division, and was the driving force behind the company’s profitable expansion internationally.

Early in Mr. Rapino’s career, he co-founded Core Audience Entertainment, a leading concert promoter and entertainment marketing company in Canada, which was acquired by SFX in 1999. Mr. Rapino began his career at Labatt Breweries, where he subsequently became Head of Marketing for Labatt brands and oversaw its entertainment assets. He holds a bachelor degree in business from Lakehead University.
