Koppers Highlights Safety, Health and Environmental Progress in Annual Responsibility Report

"I Am" theme illustrates how individual accountability contributes to the company's success

PITTSBURGH, April 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The commitment of each Koppers employee to safety, health and environmental progress is captured in the "I Am Koppers" theme of the company's fourth annual Corporate Responsibility Report.

The new 2006 report spotlights achievements, awards and progress at the company's thirty-five carbon materials, chemicals, and wood treating facilities across the globe. Koppers Holdings Inc., trading under the symbol KOP on the New York Stock Exchange, posted $1.03 billion in sales for 2005.

Among this year's highlights are: 13 achievement awards for occupational excellence from the U.S. National Safety Council; the Koppers Environmental Information Management System; statistics on the company's SH&E performance and environmental accomplishments in 2005; progress toward waste-reduction goals; and achievements in complying with new European Union regulations.
