MCLEAN, Va., May 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) today announced that its Defense Solutions Group (DSG) has been registered International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2008 as well as ISO/ International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 27001:2005 for management and oversight of information security in support of the delivery of services and solutions to customers. The quality management system applies throughout all DSG locations, with 42 sites already successfully registered with more sites planned.
ISO 9001:2008 is an international standard that specifies requirements aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction by consistently providing product and services that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. ISO/IEC 27001:2005 is an international standard that provides a model for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining, and improving an information security management system.
The audits covered design, development, integration, and installation of information technology systems, supply chain management, logistics and readiness support, network management and support, manufacturing, and production disciplines across the organization.
The ISO registrations, along with the recurring Carnegie Mellon University's Software Engineering Institute's (SEI) Capability Maturity Model Integration® for Development (CMMI-DEV) Maturity Level 5 rating, which has been achieved three successive times, demonstrate SAIC's continuous commitment to its customers and disciplined processes.
