(NYSE: THS) announced today it is acquiring Oxford Foods Inc., a producer of
pickles, peppers and related products for the food service industry. Oxford
Foods, based in South Deerfield, MA, had net sales of approximately
$24 million in 2005. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Oxford will be added to TreeHouse's Bay Valley Foods business and
integrated into its food service operation. According to Joe Coning, President
of Bay Valley Foods, "Oxford will be a great addition to our business. Our
food service pickle business has shown good growth and Oxford is a perfect fit
with our operation."
