Richardson Brings More Than 20 Years of Expertise in Financial Services Technology Washington Mutual, Inc. (NYSE:WM)
today announced that it has hired John R. Richardson as senior vice president of
e-business in the company's corporate technology division.
In the newly-created position, Richardson will be responsible for the delivery
of industry-leading e-business solutions to Washington Mutual customers,
employees and partners.

Prior to joining Washington Mutual, Richardson served as president of Venture
Software, a company delivering technical services to web-centric startups.
During his career, Richardson also served as senior vice president of systems
development for Countrywide Funding Corp. where he was responsible for all
systems related to the servicing of the company's loan mortgage portfolio.
Earlier in his career he also served as a consultant to leading financial
services companies including San Francisco Federal, First Nationwide Bank, and
Peat Marwick & Co. Richardson is a graduate of Northwestern State University
where he earned a bachelor's degree in business.
