|ADVISORY/Washington Mutual Breaks Ground for New Corporate Leadership Training Center in SeaTac|
WHAT: Washington Mutual (NYSE:WM) will hold a groundbreaking for a
new corporate leadership training center planned in SeaTac. The
center, named the Washington Mutual Leadership Center at
Cedarbrook, will be a contemporary, state-of-the-art residential
center that will support the ongoing leadership development
of Washington Mutual employees.
The three-building, 107,000-square-foot center is located on an
18-acre campus located to the east of SeaTac Airport. The campus
will feature three buildings, which will include a main building
with a 120-seat auditorium, boardroom and additional breakout
rooms. The other two smaller buildings will house approximately
110 guest rooms.
The facilities and surrounding 150-car parking lot will sit
along the southern and eastern portions of the land -- leaving
nearly one-third of the property as wetlands to be donated to
the city of SeaTac for restoration and public access.
WHERE: Thursday, Dec. 13, with groundbreaking ceremony
at 12:15 p.m.
Site of new facility. Entrance is at the intersection of 36th
Avenue South and South 188th Street.
Driving directions: From Seattle take I-5 South to the Orilla
Road/188th Exit. Bare right at the end of the exit onto 188th.
Take a right hand turn on 36th Avenue and follow it to the end
of the road.
WHO: Kerry Killinger, Chairman, CEO and President, Washington
Mutual, will lead the groundbreaking activities.
Additional note: Music will be provided by the Tyee High School
Jazz Band. A lunch reception will begin at 11:30 a.m., with the
groundbreaking and remarks at 12:15 p.m. A model of the new
center will be available for viewing.
